Our Little Miracle - December 2013

December 22, 2013 was a bitterly cold day and not only from the weather. We once again found ourselves in the back of another vets office waiting patiently for the news of Dazzle's second litter. This moment, however, was one that emphasized that breeding is truly not for the faint of heart.

A singlet, small even by neonatal standards, fought to stay with us. We were told by the vet that, 'it would be quick'. We took her home and quietly whispered prayers along the way. Then, finally, after an hour of trying to get her to eat, she latched and decided in that moment she would not give up that easily.

From that fateful day on, our little Miracle was a spunky, clever, and fearless girl who took us to great heights as her breeders, handlers, and co-owners. She was from a repeat breeding to Gabriel and thus a full-blooded sibling to Calli and Striker in the Heavens Litter! She was an AKC Bronze Grand Champion, UKC Champion, Group Winning, and Best-in-Show winning hound!
