Upcoming Litters
OHeavens has been dedicated to preserving these incredible hounds since we first fell in love with them in 2001. Thus, when the time comes to breed one of our girls, we spend countless hours meticulously researching pedigrees, planning, and visualizing the direction we want our kennel to take for the sake of our beloved breeds continued success. Emphasis on health, temperament, structure, and type above all is at the forefront of our decision-making process. We also ensure that every litter produced experiences early neurological stimulation (ENS) protocol, puppy culture protocols, and temperament testing to ensure a head start on cognitive and behavioral development so that each puppy's unique and emerging personality is entrusted to a home that best fits them!

Juliette has officially been bred to our chosen stud as of August 3rd and with a little patience and luck we will hopefully be able to hear the little pitter patter of puppy paws around October 5th! An ultrasound for confirmation of pregnancy has been scheduled for September 2nd, in the meantime please take a moment to learn more about her suitor from halfway across the world!
After two years of contemplating, searching, and testing pedigrees we learned of a promising stud over in Finland who was bred by Sabine and Peter Bramall of Houndville. His official registered name is 'Houndville Gomez' AKA Ralf per his friends and family. He is a 7-year-old boy who has produced 1 litter of his own before we inquired about his availability. He is a wonderful gentleman whose temperament speaks volumes about his character as he lives with 4 other hounds, one of which being his intact son. His offspring have also gone on to compete in confirmation events across Europe.
He has lived in the rugged Finnish countryside the majority of his life and enjoys the occasional moose bone or two during hunting season! He is quick to offer his opinion whenever asked thus the first word that comes to mind after seeing Ralf in a plethora of photo's and videos is 'Jovial'! He loves his pack dearly and is the most chipper hound who has passed on that delightful personality to his children as well!

Ralf has been fully health tested thanks to the dedication of his wonderful owner and breeders who have worked with us over many many months to ensure that the available clearances were completed well before breeding took place, including an extensive AKC DNA and genetic health screening assessing over 350 different genetic markers. Although he is not able to receive his CHIC certification at this time, as he is a foreign stud, the health information acquired is satisfactory to us, the OHCA, and the AKC. It took a village of folks from all over the world in 4 different time zones working together to make this breeding a reality and we could not be more grateful to those who were with us every step of the way!
The goal of this litter was to lessen overall coefficient of inbreeding, match Juliette with a more moderate male that complimented her structural needs, and try to pull forward a more traditional phenotype. This pairing is especially significant to the breed as it is a culmination of over 20 years of hard work and dedication on both sides of the Atlantic. The Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI) is exceptionally low for the breed at 10.6% and the Ancestor Loss Coefficient (AVK) is 16.7% as well!

Breeding Update: October 5th, 2026
We are thrilled to announce that the breeding to Ralf was a success, and Juliette is officially in whelp with another hopeful generation of OHeavens pups! Our reproductive vet confirmed via ultrasound that our lovely girl is, in her professional opinion, 'full to the brim' with puppies and told us to expect a minimum of 10 little angels with a good chance of more hiding somewhere!
